Automate the Boring Stuff is pretty popular on reddit, so I'm only slightly surprised that nobody's commented on Python Crash Course yet. Automate is a fine enough resource, but my impression was it's aimed at non-coders looking to do exactly that (automate repetetive office tasks.) It starts at the absolute beginning and ends at a weirdly specialized subset of knowledge.
